Northeast Kingdom Ambulance Services Solidify Management Contract

Lyndonville, VT 1 June 2012: Lyndon Rescue, Inc. and Danville Rescue Squad Inc. have reached an agreement in which Lyndon Rescue (LRI) will provide management services to Danville Rescue (DRSI) beginning on June 3, 2012. The leadership of both organizations have been holding discussions for several months regarding this arrangement and feel they have constructed an agreement which maintains the integrity of Danville Rescue while, at the same time, provides for the future of both organizations.

“Emergency Medical Services, both here in Vermont as well as nationwide, is going through significant changes. We have new certification levels, an expanded scope of practice as well as Act 142 which significantly changed EMS at both the state level and local level” stated Mark Podgwaite, LRI’s Director of Operations. “It is very difficult for the smaller agencies to keep up.” he said.

Debra Bach, President of DRSI said “it is very important to Danville Rescue that we share the same philosophies as our partners. We share the same culture as Lyndon which makes this such a good fit. This should be a seamless transition”. Bach also states that, “ bringing us together will help fill the void with the decrease of volunteers. It also enables us to increase our purchasing power and decrease our overall administrative expenses.”

All current Danville members have signed on with Lyndon. Danville will maintain its current ambulances, its building and will handle all billing. They will also continue to provide and maintain their subscription program, while LRI will provide all personnel and routine day to day management of the service.
