4 Hurt When Pickup Crashes into Motel

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Four people have been hurt, one critically, after a motorist lost control of his pickup truck and crashed into a Southern California motel room.

Los Angeles fire spokesman Matt Spence says the pickup slammed into the Sylmar motel in the northeast San Fernando Valley at 9:20 a.m.

Three people in the motel room are hospitalized. One of them is in critical condition.

Firefighters had to free the pickup driver from the wreckage. He is hospitalized in fair condition.

The motel room is about 15 feet from north San Fernando Road.
