ECCU 2012 (Emergency Cardiovascular Care Update) set for Orlando, Sept. 11-15, 2012

FALLS CHURCH, VA  -- Orlando, Florida has been announced as the site of the next Emergency Cardiovascular Care Update (ECCU) Conference.  It will be held Sept. 11-15 (with preconference workshops on Sept. 11 and 12) at the new Rosen Shingle Creek hotel, conveniently located near the Orlando airport and world-class attractions.

ECCU, sponsored by the Citizen CPR Foundation (CCPRF), is a dynamic conference that promotes best practices in the art and science of CPR and resuscitation. It is recognized as one of the most important venues for bringing together the entire spectrum of stakeholders on this topic, from educators, EMS providers, physicians, community advocates, scientists, administrators, school nurses, athletic directors, and (most importantly) survivors and their rescuers. Held every two years, it is the premier venue to bring together every link in the “chain of survival” for the nation’s most lethal killer: sudden cardiac arrest.

“Our 2010 event was the most successful in our history with more than 2,000 attendees,” said Dr. Tom Aufderheide, President of the CCPRF. “At ECCU 2012 we will have the world’s largest cardiac arrest survivor and rescuer summit and highlight stories behind the success in conquering sudden cardiac arrest.”

“One of the reasons Orlando was chosen”, said Marc Gay, Chair of the Site Review Committee, “was the inexpensive and convenient flight options as well as the resort nature of the destination. At only $149 per night room rate, the beautiful and luxurious Rosen Shingle Creek is a truly outstanding value,” he said. “It will be a memorable experience for our guests.”

One important feature of the conference is the large exhibit hall, which attracts every major organization that provides services and products for the CPR and resuscitation market. Exhibit days in 2012 will be Sept. 13-15.

There are many opportunities for people at every level in the field to participate in speaking at the conference. To learn how, and to be added to the contact list, go to www.eccu2012.com.
