N.C. Paramedic Accused of DWI after Wreck

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. -- A Cleveland County paramedic faces an impaired driving charge after state troopers say he drove past a stop sign and slammed into an oncoming car Saturday.

A N.C. Highway Patrol report states that Travis Nathaniel Emery didn’t stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Hamrick Road and Sulphur Springs Road near Patterson Springs. Emery went through the intersection and struck a car that was traveling south head-on, the report states.
