Construction Crane Collapse on Lobby of Louisiana Nursing Home

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — Officials say a construction crane crashed into the lobby of a Louisiana nursing home, injuring a worker but no residents.

It happened about 10:20 a.m. Monday at The Oaks, a retirement community operated by Willis-Knighton Health System.

Health spokesman Charlie Cavell tells The Times (http://bit.ly/rsBrop ) that one employee was taken to the hospital for possible injuries.

Cavell says another crane must be brought in to remove the toppled one from the building in Shreveport.

Calls by The Associated Press to the health care system were not immediately returned.

The complex includes a nursing home with a health center, assisted living apartments and an independent living apartment complex.
