South Carolina Motorcycle Medic Seriously Injured in Crash

A 15-year Charleston, South Carolina EMS Paramedic was seriously injured Saturday when a vehicle pulled out in front of his quick response motorcycle, local blog SConfire.com and other local media reports.

The paramedic was responding to a call at the time of the accident. He was thrown from the motorcycle, suffering multiple traumatic injuries. An ambulance was responding directly behind the motorcycle and witnessed the accident, rendering mmediate aid and transporting the 43-year-old to the Medical University of South Carolina.

The injured paramedic's name has not yet been officially released.

Charleston County paramedics have only two motorcycles at their disposal, and they use them only a few times a year during holidays and special events such as the Bridge Run and Spoleto Festival, USA, according to the Post and Courier.
