Florida Paramedics, Police Officer Crash

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Authorities say an officer and two paramedics at the scene of a car crash were able to avoid serious injury when another car crashed into a police cruiser in Pinellas Park.

The three had responded to a crash Monday night where a car hit a concrete barrier. Police say a second car lost control and hit the marked police cruiser, which had its emergency lights on.

Authorities say the officer and paramedics were able to avoid being directly hit by the car. The driver of the second car was taken to a hospital and later released.

None of the injuries were life threatening.
