Medic Claims Michael Jackson Involved in Hit and Run with Ambulance

LOS ANGELES -- Who was that guy whose black Cadillac Escalade plowed into an idling ambulance Wednesday at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills and then he just "Beat It"?

MedicJ amin Mauro says it was a chauffeur for Michael Jackson, according to reports on KNBC.

The emergency medical technician and his partner said they were idling outside Cedars-Sinai when an Escalade sideswiped the ambulance. The driver then hopped out of the vehicle with an umbrella, walked to the hospital doors and met Jackson, Mauro said.

"I was taking pictures for my company insurance," Mauro said. "About 30 seconds after, Jackson ... jumped into the Escalade and they sped off."

Wait, if his Mary Poppins had an umbrella, why did they need the Escalade?

A Beverly Hills Police Department-issued statement acknowledging the 3:20 p.m. collision did not mention Jackson, but did note that paparazzi had been trailing the Escalade at the time of the collision.

Mauro toldTMZ.com his head struck the driver's side window, his partner's head and elbow were banged up, and both were suffering stiff necks. Photos posted at TMZ show a nearly detached driver's side mirror.
