New Deliveries:Braun Hits 5,000th Mark

Braun Industries, Inc. unveiled its 5,000th production ambulance at the Fire Rescue International Conference in August. This Super Chief ambulance was custom-built for the Miami- Dade (Fla.) Fire Rescue Department and features the company's exclusive SolidBody Construction, in which the unit is built as one integrated module from .125" flat-sheet, marine-grade aluminum. A bowed roof provides more than 73" of headroom, while a larger interior accommodates six crewmembers. The ambulance module is mounted on the Spartan Furion chassis that has a cab-overengine design, delivering increased visibility and maneuverability for the driver. And if you're wondering why this Miami-Dade unit is red and white, instead of the usual lime green, there's a good explanation: Braun built this ambulance for Miami-Dade Station 3, which pays tribute to the Fire Department of New York City and the heroes of 9/11.
