Crash Injures 3; Rescuers Harassed

CHICAGO -- Three people were badly injured in a two-vehicle crash that left several trapped in a car Wednesday night -- a scene that became more tense when witnesses started harassing emergency crews, according to police reports.

Just after 9 p.m., paramedics were called to the crash site in the 7400 block of South Racine, according to police and fire reports.

The force of the crash left several occupants of one car trapped, said Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford. Firefighters and paramedics arrived shortly, only to be greeted by hecklers, and the situation turned physical, Langford said. "There was some contact, but nothing serious," he said.
