King Systems AIRTRAQ

The inherent difficulty with laryngoscopy is that you have to look around a natural curve. Knowing the endotracheal tube is correctly placed in the trachea requires that you watch the tube pass through the vocal cords. Studies have also shown that paramedics are not as proficient with intubation of children and infants. Thepediatric and infant-sized AIRTRAQ fromKing Systems is an optical, periscope-type device that allows you to look around the corner of the airway. ItÌs color-coded, easy to use and designed to fit ETT sizes from 2.5Ò3.5 and 4.0Ò5.5. You simply select the proper size AIRTRAQ and ETT, load the ETT into the guide channel, position the AIRTRAQ in the patientÌs mouth so you can visualize the vocal cords, and watch the tube as it passes. Be sure and confirm placement with the usual methods, but you know itÌs in.
