With the strides that have been made in computing power and portable screen resolution, it's easier than ever to see inside the body using ultrasound. It's no wonder then that ultrasound technology has been gaining popularity in emergency departments (EDs) across the country. Many EDs use it on trauma patients to detect blood in the abdomen and to assist with the placement of central lines. The newM-TurbofromSonoSiteis a rugged, easy-to-use, high-resolution ultrasound device designed to bring this technology into the field. Smaller than the average laptop, the M-Turbo powers up and can begin scanning in 15 seconds. A variety of transducers allow for cardiac, vascular, abdominal, obstetric, nerve and transesophageal imaging.
