Braun Industries is now building its Express, Raider and Chief XL modules on the new Sterling Bullet Chassis. This new chassis comes in 168.5" and 192.5" wheelbases and has a 16,500 GVWR. What many ambulance services like about the Sterling Chassis is the improved access to the engine for maintenance personnel and its spacious cab.
The new Sterling Bullet is based off the 2008 DodgeRam 4500/5500 platform.The BulletÌs Cummins is identical to the RamÌs Cummins Turbo Diesel, developing a muscular 305 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque with a six-speed automatic gearbox. The front axle is rated at 7,500 pounds, and the rear can manage up to 13,500 pounds. Other options include cruise control, fog lights, power windwos and locks, and power trailer tow mirrors.
The 72" headroom Braun Chief XL ÏPrestige PackageÓ (shown) is built on a Sterling Bullet Chassis. With BraunÌs Solid Body construction, its available payload is 3,500 lbs. or more.
