Review of: Sanddal ND, Albert S, Hansen JD, et al: "Contributing factors and issues associated with rural ambulance crashes: literature review and annotated bibliography." Prehospital Emergency Care.12(2):257 267, 2008.

The Science and the Street

I'll summarize this article for you since it's a literature review. If you're looking for specific answers relative to rural ambulance crashes, then unfortunately you'll only find four articles referenced here and would be better served by reading them in their entirety. There just hasn't been that much research dedicated to the subject. However, the authors have done an overall excellent job of compiling, updating and summarizing the status of the literature on ambulance crashes.

If you're interested in this subject, then I would start here. The annotated bibliography contains every article relevant to the subject and will save you precious time performing your own search.

I won't get on my soap box about ambulance crashes. The fact that I own an ambulance crash soap box that uses Road Safety, won't start without me putting on my seat belt, and requires me to stop at all intersections should tell you my position.
