DETROIT -- Two Detroit EMS workers were hurt after a pickup ran a stop sign and slammed into their rig on West McNichols Thursday night.

Despite their own injuries, the workers treated the pickup driver and his passenger after they were thrown from their truck, emergency workers on the scene said.

None of those involved in the crash were identified.

The ambulance driver was taken to a local hospital with a neck injury; the other EMS worker was treated at a local clinic. Both people in the pickup were taken to a local hospital, where one was in critical and the other was in temporary serious condition, emergency workers said. It was unclear which person from the pickup was most seriously injured.
