International emergency management provider Dynamiq has established an office in Papua New Guinea to support its growing client base and meet burgeoning need for its services in the country.
It will be Australian-based Dynamiq’s first international office, reflecting the importance of Papua New Guinea and the operations of Dynamiq’s clients there.
Dynamiq’s founder and CEO Anthony Moorhouse said the PNG office will be headed by an Australian-trained local security and emergency-management expert, Michael Koupere.
“Michael trained at the Royal Military College, Duntroon, before returning to home to serve in a number of positions with the PNG military, including as a signals officer, intelligence officer and as a company commander,” Mr Moorhouse said.
“He also served as an aide-de-camp to PNG’s Governor-General, before moving on to work with a major international mining company in PNG.
“Dynamiq is very excited to have Michael heading up our operations in our first international post.
“This office, in Port Moresby, has been part of our long-term development plan for a considerable period of time, and we are determined to do it well.
“For Dynamiq, it was very important to us when raising an office that we did so with a lot of local knowledge. We did not want a fly-in, fly-out expatriate trying to establish relationships and develop an understanding of how the local market operated.
“Michael’s background makes him the perfect person for the position. There’s no one who better understands the way government, business and land owners operate in PNG.”
Dynamiq advises clients on security, crisis planning and preparation, and helps organisations reduce operational risk and protect their people and assets at home and abroad. Key to this offering is supporting clients respond to medical and security emergencies.
Last year alone, Dynamiq conducted over 50 medical evacuations out of PNG. Michael will support these emergency response tasks, ensuring a seamless evacuation service for Dynamiq’s clients.
This is particularly important for Dynamiq’s strategic travel and expat insurance partner Accident and Health International (AHI).
AHI Managing Director David Epper said a huge percentage of AHI’s 200,000 insured Australians travel to, and live in, PNG.
“Dynamiq, as our travel assistance partner has always done a stellar job in assisting our clients in PNG however, their full time office in PNG represents a significant lift in our capacity to assist our clients operating across PNG. This in-house offering is unique in the Australian travel insurance market,” Mr Epper said.
Dynamiq also has offices in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney and looks after more than 6000 Australian, international and global corporations.
