Beloeil, Quebec – Demers Ambulances, one of North America’s largest and oldest ambulance manufacturers and the Canadian leader, is proud to announce that its new ambulance model Demers Mystere MXP 150 just received a 2011 New Product & Innovation Award from JEMS, Journal of Emergency Medical Services, the leading EMS journal in North America.

At the 2011 EMS Today Conference and Exhibition, produced by Elsevier Public Safety and sponsored by JEMS publications, a team of product specialists reviewed new products and innovations submitted by manufacturers and scored them in six categories; Level of Innovation, Value of Solution &/or Filling of Market Void, Degree of Improvement over Current Market Offerings Strength of Unique Features/ Functionality, Price to feature/ benefit value and, an Overall Rating. Based on that assessment and overall innovation, the team submitted its top innovative products from the EMS Today Exposition to be highlighted in a special feature article in JEMS magazine and Web tools.

A.J. Heightman, Editor-in-Chief of JEMS states: “The Demers MXP 150, Type I, 72" headroom ambulance ranked extremely high because of its overall design, construction and special features. The team was very impressed with the unit's aerodynamic cab dome that will reduce vehicle drag and offer services operating the ambulance improved gas mileage and, consequently, reduced fuel costs; the new, flush mounted and aerodynamically unique patient compartment windows similar to those used throughout the auto industry, and the new Demers Diffusion AIRFLOW System which evenly projects heat across the street side floor level for gentle heating (no direct air stream on the patient) via multiple vents across the ceiling and along the lower floor area by a specially designed channel that projects the warm air down, across the floor level and up the opposite side of the patient compartment.”
