NAPLES, Fla.-- Naples City Council's first reaction to a proposal to consolidate fire district and Emergency Medical Services: What's in it for us, and how much control do we lose?

In a Monday workshop, Naples leaders responded strongly to an old dilemma: As a donor community to the county, why shouldn't they retain control over their own fire and ambulance service?
