LAS VEGAS-- JEMS.com columnists and JEMS author Bryan E. Bledsoe, DO, FACEP, has joined the faculty of the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV) in Las Vegas, Nev.
Dr. Bledsoe and UNLV are developing several innovative distributive education (DE) programs for initial EMS education. These programs will be initially targeted at military personnel. The clinical and skills education will be in Las Vegas either in a facility at Nellis Air Force Base or at an affiliated college or university.
"I'm excited about the opportunity UNLV provides. We will be doing some incredibly exciting things in EMS education," Bledsoe said.
In addition to helping UNLV develop the EMS DE programs, Dr. Bledsoe will practice emergency medicine part-time in Las Vegas. Prior to assuming the role at UNLV, Dr. Bledsoe was on the adjunct faculty of the George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. Bledsoe will continue to maintain a primary residence in Midlothian, Texas -- a suburb of Dallas/Fort Worth.
