ROCHESTER, Wis. - A worker at a Racine County recycling plant is dead after his clothing apparently got tangled in machinery.
The sheriff's office says Kyle Wene of West Allis worked at a plant in Rochester for Kenosha-based Green 46 Recycling.
Wene was working on a conveyor belt used to process asphalt shingles for recycling. Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Dan Klatt tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the belt apparently caught Wene's clothing and choked him.
Klatt says co-workers searched for Wene when they were at lunch and didn't see him.
Authorities were contacted about the death just before 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating. Officials are performing an autopsy.
