HALLWOOD, Va. (AP) — Virginia State Police say a Virginia Beach man allegedly stabbed two firefighters and shot at rescue workers after his car wrecked in Accomack County.

State Police tell media outlets that 23-year-old Bradley Colas crashed his car into a tree in Hallwood about 6:42 a.m. Sunday. While Colas was being treated for his injuries, he became irritated and allegedly stabbed two firefighters.

State Police say Colas then pulled out a firearm and began shooting at rescue workers. He then tried to walk away from the scene before State Police stopped him.

Colas was transported for observation to a hospital where he is in custody.
