ALLENSLEVEL, Va. (AP) — State Police say a cement truck collided with an ambulance in Buckingham County on Friday, killing two people inside the ambulance.

State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller says the accident occurred at 12:20 p.m. on state Route 20 near the intersection of a county road near the unincorporated town of Allenslevel.

Geller says the ambulance driver died at the scene and the patient being transported later died. A medical technician in the back of the ambulance was flown to University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. The driver of the cement truck was uninjured.

Geller says the cause of the crash is under investigation.
