FALLS CHURCH, Va. (AP) — Falls Church volunteer firefighters are donating an ambulance to a Long Island community hit hard by Superstorm Sandy.
The Falls Church Volunteer Fire Department says it is donating the reserve ambulance to the Island Park Volunteer Fire Department, which lost its fire trucks and ambulance to flooding from the storm. Falls Church fire officials plan to drive the ambulance to Island Park on Monday.
Fire Chief Paul Schomburg says the ambulance has served his department well, but it has a far greater value to the Island Park fire department.
