NEW YORK (AP) — Police say the driver of a BMW crossed a median on Staten Island and struck an ambulance, killing himself and the ambulance driver.
It happened just after 7 p.m. Monday on Hylan Boulevard.
Police say the driver of the northbound BMW was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. The 58-year-old driver of the southbound Staten Island University Hospital ambulance was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim's names have not been released.
Police say an EMT and a patient in the ambulance both received minor injuries. They were listed in stable condition. The investigation is continuing.
