WHITTIER, Calif. (AP) — A chain-reaction crash on a Southern California has killed two drivers.

California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada says four cars piled up shortly before 2:30 a.m. Thursday on the southbound Interstate 605 in Whittier.

A driver tells KABC-TV (http://bit.ly/XJhYn6 ) that she lost control and hit the center divider. She managed to get away before other cars hit her car or each other.

Posada says the crash killed a man in his 40s and a man in his 60s in separate cars.

The crash closed most southbound lanes for several hours but they're now all open.

Authorities say it appears that no drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
