HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Three men were killed when a train struck an SUV crossing railroad tracks in Pembroke.
One other man was airlifted in critical condition to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
The crash occurred around 6:15 Sunday evening. The train knocked the SUV far off the road, causing it to flip onto its top.
Christian County Rescue Chief Randy Graham told the Kentucky New Era that Loman Owen III was semiconscious inside the vehicle when medical workers reached him. The 42-year-old Hopkinsville man started going into shock when the helicopter arrived. He couldn't say whether he'd been the driver or a passenger.
The three other victims were all thrown from the vehicle. They were 23-year-old Loman Owen IV and 40-year-old Michael Williams - both of Hopkinsville - and 45-year-old Philllip McGregor of Pembroke.
