HOUSTON — A worker has been rescued after falling about 20 feet into a maintenance shaft at an industrial site in the Houston area.

Cy-Fair volunteer firefighters say the man fell off a ladder Wednesday morning.

A paramedic was lowered into the hole to rescue the injured man, who was safely removed and appeared to have suffered a shoulder or arm injury.

The victim was transported by helicopter to a Houston hospital. Further details on his condition were not immediately released.

The cause of the northwest Harris County accident is sought.
