| Tuesday, June 1, 2010

DALLAS - A Dallas area man remained in the hospital a day after his wife and two young children died in a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 20.

Police said Wyndell K. Greene Sr., 34, of Frisco, owner of a Plano financial services company, was driving east with his family when an 18-wheeler rear-ended their Toyota 4Runner in heavy traffic. He was in Parkland Memorial Hospital on Saturday, suffering from third-degree burns.

His wife, Lakeysha Greene, 35, and their two children, Wyndell K. Greene II, 3, and Wesleigh Greene, 5, all died after the SUV burst into flames Friday evening, The Dallas Morning News reported. Four others were injured.

The accident, east of Dallas in Kaufman County, snarled Memorial Day weekend traffic late into the night. It remained under investigation.
