Passenger was suffocating in snow after a traffic crash.

WATERTOWN, S.D. - Two emergency responders from Watertown are being credited with saving the life of a woman who was suffocating in snow after a traffic crash.

The American News reports that Justin Pietz and Gavin Pollert were returning after taking a patient to Fargo, N.D., late Friday when they saw an overturned pickup truck in the ditch near Sisseton. The driver of the pickup wasn't hurt in the crash and told Pietz and Pollert that a passenger had been buried by snow that had filled the pickup.

Watertown Fire Chief Nick Swinhart says Pietz and Pollert were able to uncover the woman "moments before she likely would have suffocated."
