AUSTIN, Texas -- A 15-year veteran of Austin-Travis County EMS was killed in a head-on collision. Randy Trinkle, 46, was on his way home to Fredericksburg after completing his shift Saturday morning.
"It's devastating," said Mike Benavides, a commander with Austin-Travis County EMS Special Operations and good friend of Trinkle's. "It's devastating from a professional standpoint. It's devastating from a personal standpoint. My heart and my prayers and the prayers of the entire team and department just go out to him and his family. We can't even imagine what they must be going through. It's tragic."
