PHOENIX - Phoenix firefighters rescued eight over-heated hikers from Camelback mountain.
Fire department spokesman Tony Mure says that around 9:30 a.m. Sunday crews were dispatched to rescue a 39-year-old woman, her husband and a friend. They said they started their hike around 6 a.m. and ran out of water.
As crews were responding to this call, they say they came across a family of five that started hiking the mountain around 9 a.m. and also did not bring enough water.
Firefighters say a 13-year-old began to cramp up on the hike. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
High temps on Sunday were in the 110-degree range.
