UNION, N.Y. -- The Broome County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division arrested a Town of Union man after an investigation revealed that he falsely posed as a member of the American Red Cross and an Emergency Medical Technician last month.
On September 9, 2011, at a shelter for flood victims in the Town of Union, 28 year old Sean A. Rogler, signed in on a roster as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and a volunteer for the Red Cross. While acting in these assumed roles, Rogler did interact with the public and, on four separate occasions, requested an ambulance for flood victims with minor medical conditions. Another person at the shelter recognized Rogler and knew he was neither a member of the Red Cross nor an EMT and alerted authorities.
