NASHUA, N.H.-- One of New Hampshire's largest ambulance services is shutting down, putting more than 160 people out of work. Rockingham Regional Ambulance, run by St. Joseph Hospital, said state cuts to Medicaid reimbursement to hospitals across the state prompted the move, according to The Telegraph of Nashua. Executive Director Chris Stawasz said the company's employees are working with placement services to find new jobs by the Sept. 30 shutdown date. St. Joseph is also closing down a medical equipment subsidiary, affecting 10 workers.
