Iowa EMSA Honors Instructor at Annual Conference

More than 1,200 EMS providers from across Iowa attended the three-day conference

DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The Iowa Emergency Medical Services Association honored Northeast Iowa Community College EMS instructor Sandy Neyen, of Farley, with the IEMSA Outstanding Part-Time Instructor of the Year award at its annual conference Nov. 10-12 in Des Moines.

More than 1,200 EMS providers from across Iowa attended the three-day conference to network with others in the field, hear speakers and presentations, and to recognize EMS professionals for their work.

Neyen is a clinical coordinator for EMS programs and instructor for paramedic classes for the NICC Peosta campus.

Neyen is an NICC Respiratory Therapy program graduate and has worked as a pediatric specialist, specializing in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. In this capacity, Neyen served on the transport team with University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
