An Oak Brook Terrace paramedic had to be taken to the hospital after a motorist rear-ended an ambulance Saturday night.

Oak Brook Terrace firefighters were responding to a car accident call about 6:30 p.m. in the area of Rt. 83 and Roosevelt Road, according to a news release. While on their way to the accident, they came across another accident near Rt. 83 and Butterfield Road and, as they stopped to offer assistance, a motorist rear-ended their ambulance, the release said.

A paramedic inside the ambulance suffered minor injuries and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

The ambulance is not drivable.

Another person at the scene of the accident also was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to the release.
