FORESTVILLE, Md. - A tragic construction accident has killed a man on the job in Forestville this Thursday morning.

Maryland State Police officials tell 9NEWS NOW a 27-year-old man was working on a paving operation around 12:30 a.m. on Pennsylvania Avenue at the beltway when he was struck by dumptruck.

Police say the man was standing on a step and reaching into the cab of his dump truck when another dumptruck started to back up next to him. The second dumptruck hit the door of the victim's truck, crushing the man between the door and the cab.

Officials say the man was transported to Prince George's Hospital where he was pronounced dead around 1:22 a.m.

The victim has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.

No one has been charged at this time.
