BOISE - A 19-year veteran Boise firefighter was killed while responding to his volunteer ambulance station for a medical call on Friday in Elmore County.
According to the Idaho Statesman, Vance Baldwin, 52, was killed when his four-wheel ATV missed a curve and plunged down a 30-foot embankment. Baldwin was located by family members after word was sent out that he failed to arrive at the station.
Baldwin recently served as an engine company driver at Boise Fire Station No.14. During his career he was a member of the dive rescue team, airport rescue team and hazardous materials team.
