On May 13, Rural/Metro announced that senior healthcare and service industry executive Scott A. Bartos, 49, has been selected to succeed Michael P. DiMino as president and chief executive officer. DiMino has left the company. He had served as president, CEO and director since 2010.

Bartos previously served as president and CEO of LaVie Care Centers, a leading national skilled nursing management organization. Before joining LaVie, Bartos served as president and COO-East for Gambro Healthcare/USA, the second largest operator of kidney dialysis clinics in the world. In October, Bartos was appointed to the Board of Directors of Alliance HealthCare Services, Inc., a leading national provider of outpatient diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy services.

In a statement, Rural/Metro said, “Mr. Bartos’ proven track record of improving efficiency and performance at healthcare providers makes him the ideal candidate to help the Company build on its momentum and to achieve its goal to become the nation’s best operated ambulance services company and provider of specialty fire services. Rural/Metro would also like to thank Michael DiMino for his service and dedication to the Company.”
