Arizona School Bus, Construction Truck Collide

Children were suffering non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Glendale police say a construction truck rear ended a school bus while students were getting on the bus.

ABC15.COM (http://bit.ly/pzYtAy ) reports It happened around 6:50 a.m. near Missouri and 57th avenues. The bus belongs to Phoenix charter school Bennett Academy.

According to Glendale police spokesman Brent Coombs, the bus had already picked up two students and was picking up two others when it was struck from the back by the truck.

Coombs said the children getting on the bus were injured. They're suffering non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.

The other children on the bus are expected to be OK.

KTVK-TV reports one child was flown by helicopter to Phoenix Children's Hospital.
