VANDERGRIFT, Pa. -- A car has collided with an ambulance on a two-lane road in suburban Pittsburgh, leaving four people hurt.

An Armstrong County 911 center dispatcher says the accident occurred late Friday morning in Parks Township.

The Valley News Dispatch reports a woman driving a Volkswagen Jetta collided with the private ambulance near her home. State police said 25-year-old Lindsey Brown was flown by helicopter to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh for unknown injuries.

Her 30-year-old husband, Nicholas, was also hurt because of the crash, along with two ambulance attendants.

The ambulance was transporting a patient for dialysis treatment. Authorities have not released details on how the wreck occurred.
