LONG BEACH, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say five people have been injured in a balcony collapse at a beachside apartment building on Long Island.

Officials say the people were on the second-floor cement balcony in Long Beach when it came crashing down at about 8:30 p.m. Monday.

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Meanwhile, authorities are warning other residents of the building to stay off their balconies.

WABC-TV (http://bit.ly/15wFBUG) reports a structural engineer is expected to examine those balconies Tuesday to determine whether they're safe.

Officials continue to investigate what caused the collapse.
