ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Police say two-dozen people have been taken to hospitals -- at least two of them critically hurt -- after a crash involving a bus and two other vehicles in Atlantic City.

Police said the crash on inbound Route 40 near West End Avenue was first reported at 11:25 a.m.

The bus driver was ejected during the crash, police said. Officers initially reported as many as six people could be critically hurt but later lowered that number to two.

The majority of the injured were taken to Atlantic City Medical Center.

One local newspaper reported that the bus was on its side when emergency responders first reached the scene. Crews were able to right it quickly.

SkyFox over the scene showed the bus with heavy front-end damage was off to the side of the road, a gold car was badly damaged, and injured persons were being taken from a white SUV.

Multiple people were also seen being taken in wheelchairs to waiting ambulances.

Another 25 passengers, who were not injured, were taken to the Tropicana Casino and Resort.

Police Lt. Charles Love said the bus is owned by Sun Lee Bus Co. out of Brooklyn, N.Y. He believes it was carrying passengers from New York's Chinatown.

The crash remains under investigation.
