2 West Virginia Paramedics Injured in Hit-and-Run

Police suspect the driver was either drunk or under the influence of an unknown substance

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. -- The chaplain of the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority says paramedics are used to being called into chaotic scenes, but Tuesday night's call to U.S. Route 119 in Big Chimney was different.

"One of our ambulances was struck by another vehicle and the vehicle fled the scene and it put the vehicle out of service," said Mike Jarrett. "It's just really unsettling when you have to respond to one of your own."
