Hundreds Attend Funeral For Garrard Paramedic

One by one, they walked into Rockcastle County High School.

"He was like a brother to us all," said Hall's partner Justin Berman.

More than 200 people, including EMT's, firefighters and police officers, attended the paramedic's funeral in Mt. Vernon. Many came from different places, but most said they've all lost a member of their family.

"I've always called Chris Hall and Justin Bergman my boys, so I've lost a son," said Jay Manley with Garrard EMS.

"It's a brotherhood. It shows here today," said Bergman.

The 35-year-old Hall had been a paramedic for four years. He served in Garrard County less than 2.

"The best person you'd ever meet in your life. He was truly, truly a friend," said Bergman.

Hall was returning home from a call when a car accident claimed his life. His EMS director says he was essentially killed in the line of duty.

Many were taken back by the service. They said goodbye, but most agree the service was a celebration of Chris Hall's life.

"I think today he's gotten the honor he deserved. He's a wonderful man with a heart that will never be captured again I don't think," said Hall's mother-in-law, Gail Bond.
