BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. -- Palm Bay officials are weighing whether to appeal a judge's dismissal this week of a class-action lawsuit that tried to force the county to refund fees city residents paid for ambulance service.
"The city believed that the citizens were entitled to a refund," Palm Bay City Manager Lee Feldman said. "The judge didn't see it that way."
The case stemmed from Palm Bay's 2005 challenge to assessments that Brevard County charged homeowners to fund emergency medical services.
