PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh officials have launched an investigation into the death of a man during the massive snowstorm that hit the area 12 days ago.
Curtis Mitchell's widow said she called 911 for an ambulance, but it was never able to reach the couple's Hazelwood home. Edge said she started making desperate calls to 911 for an ambulance after Mitchell, 50, started having severe stomach pain. "I kept calling for an ambulance, and nobody came," said Edge.
In its first attempt, the ambulance got as far as the Elizabeth Bridge but couldn't make it any further in the snow. In their next try, paramedics made it to Chaplain Way and West Elizabeth Street.
