PAONIA, Colo. - Authorities say two ambulances were destroyed in a garage where they were parked in the western Colorado town of Paonia (pay-OWN'-yah), but no injuries were reported.
The fire broke out at the Northfork Ambulance Association office at about 6 a.m. Thursday in Paonia, about 150 miles southwest of Denver.
Richard Kinser, president of the association's board, says the front of the building had fire and smoke damage.
No one was in the building at the time.
Kinser says authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
Kinser says he doesn't think the ambulances can be repaired. He says the Northfork Ambulance Association is a volunteer ambulance service.
