DENVER-- Two people are in custody following an armed robbery last night that also left a paramedic wounded.

According to a statement from Lincoln County Sheriff s Office, the robbery occurred shortly after 10 p.m. at the CVS Pharmacy at 2128 N N.C. 16 in Denver. Two males dressed in all black entered the store and ordered the manager to fill the bag with money.

Rescue squad member Jimmy Perkins, 52, notified the Lincoln County Communications Center that he believed the CVS was being robbed and stopped behind the suspect vehicle to write down the license plate number.

The men came out of store, confronted Perkins and shots were fired, hitting Perkins in the leg.

The men then rammed Perkin s vehicle and fled the scene in a White 2005 Mazda. Perkins was transported to Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville with non-life threatening injuries. He was treated and released.

The vehicle fled down Fairfield Forest Road and was abandoned at the end of the road near Lake Norman. An undisclosed amount of money and two handguns were recovered from the suspect vehicle.

The Sheriff s Department TAC team and K-9 unit were called out and found two men hiding under a boat dock around 11:30 last night.

Raymond Vernon Jones, 42, and Eric Lester Jones, 19, both of Charlotte were booked into the Harven A Crouse Detention Center this morning and were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, attempted murder, conspiracy, kidnapping, and possession of a stolen firearm. They are under a $250,000.

Police officials are looking for a third suspect believed to be involved. Officials said it is unknown if the suspect remains in the county.

The suspect was last seen in green SUV. No Teaser is available at this time.
