SEMINOLE, Okla. -- A Seminole woman died after a three-vehicle accident near Wewoka in Seminole County, Okla., authorties said.

Betty Lozer, 61, died Sunday night at a Seminole hospital.

The accident happened about 8 p.m. Sunday at U.S. 270 and the U.S. 270 business route, 3 miles west of Wewoka, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Bradley Shrum, 18, of Tecumseh was driving west and failed to stop at a stop sign, hitting the driver's side of a vehicle driven by Lozer. Lozer was heading west on the U.S. 270 business route.

Lozer's vehicle spun before it was struck by a Wewoka ambulance driven by Matthews Abel, 25, of Wewoka, troopers said. Abel was heading east on U.S. 270.

Lozer was trapped for about 20 minutes.

Shrum and his passenger, Andrea Shrum, 16, of Tecumseh were not injured.

Abel and his passenger, Clayton Whitlock, 36, of Wewoka were treated and released at local hospitals.

All occupants were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
