LifeStar Response Ambulance Corporation announced recently that it appointed Adam Colombo, DO as its' Medical Director for LifeStar's Pennsylvania Division. Dr. Colombo began his position with LifeStar on September 1, 2010.

Dr. Colombo will be accountable for the medical direction of LifeStar's Pennsylvania Division. This position will be responsible for the development of medical policies and provide overall planning and medical direction for all field medical employees. Dr. Colombo's responsibilities will include: Authorizing Medical Command for LifeStar Paramedics; Implementing processes that will review Paramedic performance; Quality Assurance and Compliance; Mentoring and training initiatives; as well as other duties.

In 1993 Dr. Colombo received his BA in Biology from West Virginia University, and completed his graduate studies in Neuroanatomy in 1996. He attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and became a Doctor of Osteopathy in 2003. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Lehigh Valley Hospital in 2007, from there earning his Flight Surgeon status in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard in 2009 from the Aerospace Medicine Primary School. Currently Dr. Colombo is an attending physician of Emergency Medicine at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem campus. Dr. Colombo also holds numerous certifications in educational instruction that include: ACLS, PALS and BLS, as well as a Licensed Provider in the Commonwealth of PA.
